Thank you! Part of the enjoyment that I got from writing their relationship was that Rodney has (finally, because he's still a clueless moron with most people) figured out exactly what John needs. He's solved for x (and Solving for x is likely to be the title of the prequel to this that I am so not writing, Rodney, you hear me?, and he's got the answer precisely, exactly right.

And we all wish we could afford that hotel...but mostly for John and Rodney the hotel is somewhere they can be by themselves, decompress and, yes, decelerate. Neither of their apartments (and whether they've kept the apartments going is debatable) would have worked, because there would have been stuff around to do, like caulking the tub, and really, a good whipping is far more enjoyable.
